About Me ~ Life Coach Dallas
My name is April Sawin. I recently moved from Dallas, TX and now live in Washington, D.C.  I have a Bachelor's of Science from the University of Maryland with a major in Psychology and a minor in Gerontology. I am currently pursuing my Master's in Human Services with specialization in Marital, Family and Couples counseling through Capella University. I was in the US Air Force for six years and traveled all over the world.  Being a Life Coach affords me the experience in helping clients before I get my licensing.  Along with my life experiences and my education, I am able to Coach clients to happiness!

Life Coaching does not require credentials so I am able to pursue this while obtaining my degree.  It gives me the opportunity to work with clients on personal life issues that they have.  Together, the client and I work on the present and look forward to the future.  I help people find the answer of the daunting question of where they want their life to go in either their personal or professional lives. Sometimes it is hard for people to see the ‘big picture.’  In a perfect world, we all would be able to find our own direction or resolve conflict, however many of us need a boost in confidence to help make the appropriate choices and/or decisions.  In our society it is very easy to become overwhelmed or feel like you’re lacking direction…that’s where the Coach steps in and provides the needed guidance.  Our life is a result of our choices.

I am very persistent in my journey to get my PhD in Counseling. I am very passionate about helping people. I am especially concerned with family, marital and couples counseling. I came from a broken home and am a single mom. I know how hard it is on individuals when the family unit is split up or if a relationship is in turmoil. Counseling may not always be the solution...but it can help more than people think. I approach each client with empathy and listen to what they say. I want them to gain my complete confidence and trust.

I can not wait to be a Counselor....I beam with excitement at the thought of having my own practice one day.
